Yeah yeah....I am writing this 25 days or so later..BITE ME!!!
Don't have much to say bout what went on within this 25 days...solely cause I can't remember jack nuts...
Hahaha...must be too much gunfire and stuff knocking my brain around...Hey..it's sensitive....
Ok...
let's just get straight to the point...someone in my tag board wants an update...so lets see now shall we?
let's start with tuesday since..MONDAY WAS A HOLIDAY!!!
We were expecting a IPPT on tuesday...simple shit...seriously..during poly. 2.4km was a killer for most pple..now...2.4? huh? what's that? we chao chao also run 3+, 4km..in LONG 4!!..ok..back to the story. but NOO...we had a water survival test..
basically jump off a 5m tower with a dummy rifle and swim to the edge...go down 4m, divest and come back up and swim 15m with SBO and rifle..all in long 4 and boots....ok..now..the jump was easy..the swimming to edge wasn'...don't ask me why..nearly went down...so that kinda sucked my lungs abit..and then the divesting...that was hard..
had to do it twice or so...
i dunno why...but i always seem to run outta air so damn fast.....
But oh damn...that ain't nothing compared to what was coming up that afternoon...it rained..and we had to go "overseas" for our exercise... 4 days 3 nights of fun in the jungle...wet jungle...
The first night after we deployed..we went to our respective positions..and something told me to look around...Lo and behold...i spotted the thing that stung me before...a scorpion..damn..oh well..tried to step on it..but it disappeared under the leaves..and i had to lie there too..at least until 2300hrs where we had to move out for an 'ambush'....tired like hell..i won't go into specs..but it was basically a long walk/wait and back again..and in the morning..we had another movement..basically it was hot days and cold mornings...freezing cold mornings..
and after that, we came back to mainland..rested or attempted to rest a few hours and we had our 35km route march..walked a little less than half way, and at our meal point...it rained..whoop dee doo...so we continued in the rain...wet, soaked to be exact..down to our socks. Heavy equipment..walk, walk, walk, walk, walk, walk, walk, walk, walk...blisters, abrasions, sore shoulders..then our OC told us that the final stop would be at the beach where we would take shelter..YEAH!! or so it seemed..we walked walked walked walked walked and we finally reached. Threw our stuff down and slept...wet..and at 0200hrs ++ the wind came...It was bloody cold..was shivering...so i activated my food warmer with much difficulty and tried to go back to sleep under my gortex. Woke up an hour later colder and stiffer..and we marched another 3km to our final destination..where we waited in the rain for the parade, listened to the stupid black man talk and knock us down twice cause we were too stoned......
and whatever...during the entire time there..the rain and wind came with full fury...ever got hypothermia? trust me..it was so cold, my teeth was chattering, hands and knees shaking...I had to use full control to stop myself from shaking when my rank was presented to me.... and we had to walk back to camp another 2+km i think..and at the end, we got it again cause some clown from my platoon returned the signal set while we were supposed to carry it..they almost took our ranks away and make us walk the 35km again...damn....
more or less that was the week...19/20 nov 2004...I can never forget the feeling...damn....
