Far better it is to dare mighty things.
To win glorious triumphs,
even though checkered by failures.

Than to rank with those poor spirits,
who neither suffer much nor enjoy much
'Cause they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat

Another week...and hell is coming closer....

Monday
Hoo Yah!!! I be back!!! The beginning of the week was rather ok. Parade on Monday..Boring!!...Had SOC trial tests too....I failed!! by 9 secs!!! why? cause I had to wait for some guy to try and clear the wall 3 times...damn....But oh well... Leg hurt after that..Old injury..remember the earlier posts bout me landing wrongly?...Yep
Tuesday
.... then we had a IPPT trial test the next day, but I got myself outta that..Leg hurt...no way I could run...So I sat there with some others like a dodo and watched the rest do it....felt weird...
Wednesday
Then the IPPT test came the next day...I cleared all!! haha...my 2.4 timing improved, on top of the usual other beneficial factors like I've lost weight, gained more muscle and my abs are peeking out!!!...ARMY IS GOOD!!! Hahahahaha!!.
Thursday
Whoa mama...this was one shaggy day...Had IFC lessons in the morning...then we had some practical..had to rush back to bunk and get ready for the 16km route march..there wasn't even enough time to prepare. Like taping up my feet with medical tape and stuff.. I got picked to be the front scouts...which meant I had to walk with some other guy and my sgt 70-100m ahead of the entire company....no slowing down....but managed to talk nonsense with my sgt..haha...Sad he will be leaving us after BMT or something...I'm damn sure he's got alot of experience to teach...anyway..the first 8km was on...2km into the remaining 8km, I started to get blisters...oh yeah...at the 4km rest point..my feet hurt like hell.....I had to force myself to walk the remaining 4km back...and that's only 16km...we still have the 24km one. 36km in the next phase and 72km before we pass out...blisters galore my friend....I got 6-7 alone on my right foot and 3-4 on my left...and both feet have nice big ones at the balls of the feet...every step...see God....
Friday
had some PT in the morning...the crunches and dips were ok..what hurt like hell was the duck jumps and jumping jacks..I couldn't even walk properly and here I am jumping on my feet...And then we had more IFC lessons...after lunch, it rained so we ran to the MPH to continue. After it stopped, we went back to our company line..during the run up the stairs, I felt this tear and wetness...back up...I removed my boots and saw two wet spots on the left one...Yup..I burst the blister from pressure...And I got heat rash too....whee....
Saturday
Had the 1.5km SOC grading test....puked before and after I ran....blisters agony, but I managed to force myself through it..Don't know if I passed yet.... Then we went to SDC...looked at exhibits and stuff...waste of time...the finally let us go around 1540hrs...man..that sucked big time!!! No time to even go to church....went out with my friends for dinner...one of em is flying off sept 7 to study. Went to pasta fresca..and then a ice cream buffet..haha...make your own..It was rather fun...hahaha.
Sunday
and here I am writing this on a Sunday morning...was supposed to go for cell...but I overslept..that's how tired I am. This upcoming week...a small portion of brimstone is coming..I heard monday is relaxed cause tuesday - thursday I got a field camp in marsling..damn....but a little birdie told me I get to book out early this week...hee hee hee..and Can someone please confirm with me this new 5 day work week rule...seems from sept 4th we get to book out friday evenings....DANG!! HAHAHAHA!!!!

And to all my YCC friends who are still studying....Study hard and don't slack in your faith either... To those taking either Os...It's gonna be over real soon. So just put in your Nox now and cruise through the finish line...getting the long service award ain't fun...trust me....

3rd weekend out...Gonna be a long post.

Third weekend out...damn....5 more weeks and I am outta bmt...
Had a long weekend last week cause I had to go for graduation..but no time to post anything..I had too many things to do..
Training is still tough and getting tougher...
Just had our 8km route march this week...blisters nice and big, but I managed to push all the way through...Got a 16km route march this coming week and after that a field camp...
Had a SOC...jumped the last obstacle and nearly broke my leg...rested over the weekend and now after this week, I've done the entire thing about 9 times...3 times/session...It is hell..super tiring..but it feels good. I remember standing there limping about on my injured leg while the others ran it...they looked damn shagged out when the returned, and I was dying to be one of them. I asked the conducting if I could give it a shot..but his answer was a flat no. Was disappointed, but I guess it was the right choice. Had I gone, I would probably have really ripped my leg up. Thanks to him, I've almost recovered and done it lotsa times...Yeah..you read correctly..almost..it still hurts slightly when I run and after I clear the stations, but it feels good....argh...It's just one of those things...I guess when you are being trained to be the best unit around, it really throws the normal person's definition of endurance outta the window.

Some S*** really hit the fan this week in camp...can't say what, but I'm guessing that life is just gonna take a different turn for us...it wasn't caused by my platoon, but we're gonna be involved in the s*** stirring anyway.

Anyway, the graduation was fun. It would have been better if I could have gone out with my friends, but I had to book in ASAP. Had something to do in camp. Sure was good seeing my poly friends again. Talked a while, took pictures and stuff. Yeah...sucks for a graduation eh? Guess my parents were happy I finally got my dip. Hahahahaha...Yeah yeah...I'm a lazy ass who had a hard time in school.

Weird though..the last person I thought would get the feeling in camp would be me..and yet I got it anyway...one day in camp, I suddenly woke up and felt homesick...yeah...seriously....
I don't know why..maybe cause our morale was low or something..but for a few days, it really sucked...wasn't in the mood to do squat diddly..had to force myself to train, no mood to eat...and the fact that the food sucked didn't help either. Damn.... And being me, I don't like to talk bout this kinda things, so I kept it to myself....didn't help either.

Yeah well..that's it for now...I'll post maybe later or when...Gonna go get some chow and stuff.
You guys would probably know better how I feel if I used some more 'colorful' language, but I have managed to hold my tongue quite effectively for the past 5 weeks in camp. So I shall not start using it now...gotta be a different person in camp. I don't have time to read my bible, and at night, I'm so tired, I don't even have much time to pray before I sleep...I just knock out asap. Just a quick short and and bang I am out. I still manage to pray sometimes during training and when I am waiting for stuff to happen. But more then less, we have a tendency to just look down and close our eyes during those times too.... Man....

My First weekend out...

Hello pple..I'm back from camp...what can I say about training? IT IS HELL!!!! To those from tekong: don't you ever dare say your training is tough....
Anyway, back to my story...day 1 and 2 were pretty easy...got my head shaved and stuff...(didn't make much of a difference to me though...when i went back to church, people were still asking me when i was going in...HAHA) week 1 was pretty slack..cause the trainers knew we were still getting used to it. Hell began after that..
Some dumb assed platoon members refuse to open their mouths to shout or sing....so guess what happened? We get 'tekan'...that's punishment for the people who don't understand....
Here is a sample day. After we wake up. 1 L of water. It's compulsory..prevents heat stroke and dehydration..but that isn't too bad..After breakfast, we drink 1L of water....and guess what? we got tekan..RUN AND TOUCH THE WALL!! we did that...some didn't shout on the way back..and we did it AGAIN!! Then we had to do flutterkicks...100 counts of 4. push ups, jumping jacks..
Then the day went on...Next was lunch..before every meal. It's compulsory to do pull ups..so we did 7+1...the +1 is a commando tradition..we train harder..so we did our pull ups..then we moved into a line for push ups, next, flutter kicks, then on to jumping jacks and then dips...then it was lunch...day went on..and at night before dinner...pulls ups again...the almighty flutter kicks..and push ups...then dinner...whoop dee doo eh? I won't even mention PT...imagine tekong..and X5..yeah.....

But all in all..i treat all punishment as training... In 18 days, i've lost 2-3kg...yeah yeah..I know most slimming agencies can do that in a shorter time..but I got a bonus..in addition to losing that 2-3kg....you seen my abs recently? or my chest or shoulder and arms for that matter? HELL YEAH!!! they got definition, size and hardness...not to speak of my thighs or calfs..SUPER TONED BABY!!!!

Oh well...I got too many things to write that I don't know what to write...It's been 18days...alot has happened..I can tell some, but for others it's classified..you couldn't pry it out of me. I am in a unit that teaches discipline above all. And I will not break it.

I'll let you know what goes on this coming week...I can book out every weekend now..HEE HEE HEE!!!!

Anything to ask...post it..If i can reply with an answer..I will..cheerios.
